2nd St Thomas Yacht Club Invitational Regatta set for May 14-16, 2021

St. Thomas Yacht Club Invitational Regatta © Carol Bareuther The second annual St. Thomas Yacht Club (STYC) Invitational Regatta will take place on May 14-16, 2021. Run out of the Club s St. Thomas Sailing Center (STSC) in Cowpet Bay, this event will welcome 8 teams representing the U.S. Virgin Islands, U.S.A., and Sweden. COVID-19 safety precautions will be in place per the USVI Government s executive orders. For example, crews are limited to three in the IC24 and will race jib and main, thus eliminating extra crew needed to fly a spinnaker. Plus, competitors will social distance and wear facial buffs.

St Thomas Yacht Club announces its 2021 international regatta schedule

St. Thomas International Regatta © St. Thomas Yacht Club Competitive and COVID-safe yacht racing returns in a new normal way to St. Thomas in 2021. The St. Thomas Yacht Club (STYC) Board of Directors is pleased to announce next year s dates for two of the Caribbean s favorite regattas and the second annual of a soon-to-be major international regatta. Specifically, the St. Thomas International Regatta (STIR) will be held March 26-28; the STYC Invitational, May 14-16; and the International Optimist Regatta (IOR), June 14-20. Sailing and yachting play an integral role in our overall tourism product and make a vital contribution to the U.S. Virgin Islands economy. Our warm weather, beautiful waters and exceptional marine facilities make us an ideal choice for sailing and yachting.
