Palm Beach Deputy Shot By Suspect Expected To Recover

By Joel Malkin Photo: CBS 12 A Palm Beach County Sheriff s deputy is expected to be okay after being shot while serving what was supposed to be a routine search warrant. A family member let deputies inside the home of 61-year old Thomas Robarge, near Boynton Beach Wednesday. He was accused of vandalizing cars in the Indian Spring Country Club community. Sheriff Ric Bradshaw says that once inside the home, things got dangerous for the deputies. Out of a corner, near a bedroom where it was very dark, multiple shots rang out. One of the deputies was struck in the leg and the hand. The other deputies returned fire. The suspect retreated back into the bedroom.

The incident occurred just before 1 p.m. in the Indian Spring Country Club community off El Clair Ranch Road. Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw said Thomas Robarge, 61, is accused of vandalizing cars and causing quite a bit of damage to vehicles in the neighborhood.
