Icy roads blamed for multiple accidents
WILLMAR Numerous accidents were reported Friday morning in Kandiyohi County as a result of freezing drizzle that caused roads to become slick.
After a crash on U.S. Highway 71 on the north edge of Willmar temporarily closed the shoulder of the road and affected traffic flow, the Minnesota Department of Transportation office in Willmar issued a statement asking motorists to slow down due to the icy conditions.
Two accidents Friday morning on U.S. Highway 12 near Atwater, in Gennessee Township resulted in injuries.
The first crash was reported at 7:35 a.m. on Highway 12 at 180th Street Northeast.
