Saint Anselm can keep dancin’.
The Hawks won the program s first NCAA Tournament game in dramatic fashion, scoring six of the final eight goals to win in overtime, 12-11, against Seton Hill on Friday afternoon.
With under two minutes left in overtime, Noah Larsen went to his right behind the net before, then he shifted to his left while Matt Ward set a pick. That gave him the space he needed to get up top and released the ball while being driven to the ground, it bounced into the net to send Saint A’s to the NCAA Quarterfinals.
No. 5-seeded Saint Anselm (13-1) will face NE-10 foe Le Moyne, the top seed in the North Region and conference champion, at 1 p.m. Sunday. It will be played at Mercyhurst University. The host Lakers have a bye to the NCAA Semifinals after Mercy withdrew from the tournament due to COVID protocols.
