It continues right now as we approach the 11 00 hour. We are going to see some pockets of some heavy rain and ive also been watching heavy rain moving closer to the Santa Cruz Mountains. As we get a look at san jose, it is pretty much covered with a moderate downpour. And where we see the yellow indicates some heavier pockets of rain moving through south city and San Francisco. Also across the Golden Gate Bridge and then we go into the north bay where weve seen some rain that has been quite heavy at times with rainfall rates up to 1 4 of an inch of rain per hour. Mostly a steady light rain in parts of the bay area. Heavy rain in oakland and san leandro, moving off towards the north and east. As we go through the rest of the day, this is what the radar could look like. Shows some really heavy rains at times, but there starts to be some breaks as we go into the afternoon. The fire expanded to west of highway 101. Weve talked about it jumping the highway, in the northeast santa rosa neighborhood near the kohls store at coffee lane and hopper avenue, the northernmost residential area in santa rosa, there are several structure fires there. Cross creek road, sky farm drive, st. Andrews drive, all residents north of Fountain Grove park way, montecito heights, those are all mandatory evacuation areas. Residents need to heed Evacuation Orders according to the city of santa rosa. Evacuation means you need to leave immediately. Please gather personal belongings, pets and go to the Findlay Community center at 2060 west College Avenue. That is a shelter that is set up for those people. The fire is believed to have started near highway 128 there in napa county and this progressed to santa rosas city limits. Theyre also asking you not to call 911 unless you are reporting an active fire near your area and youre in immediate danger. They dont want phone calls going in
