Former Pa. cop faces 122 charges over accusations he sexually abused boys 20 years ago

A former police officer in Bucks County is accused of sexually abusing four teenaged boys 20 years ago, authorities said.
James Carey, 52, turned himself in Wednesday morning to face 122 charges, including multiple counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 16, aggravated indecent assault of a child under the age of 16 and statutory sexual assault.
The offenses allegedly occurred between 1987 and 2009. Wednesday’s charges come after previous reports and investigations into Carey’s behavior did not result in criminal charges being filed, prosecutors said.
Ochoa, of Laredo, Texas, faces charges of drug possession with intent to deliver, conspiracy to commit that offense, conspiracy to deal in proceeds of unlawful activities, criminal use of a communications facility and carrying a firearm without a license, which are felonies, as well as a misdemeanor offense of possessing a weapon.
Ochoa is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges Thursday. He is currently in Bucks County Prison on his other charges in lieu of 10% of $1 million bail.
“We’re just beginning our investigation of what happened, Ochoa s attorney Thomas Joachim said Wednesday. Only one side of the story has come out yet.”
