FAYETTEVILLE A woman is suing Kroger alleging she was injured on a wet spot on the floor that she was unaware existed while she was shopping in the store.
Angela Williams was at Kroger doing her grocery shopping on Sept. 13, 2019, in Oak Hill when she slipped on the wet floor inside the store and fell, according to a complaint filed in Fayette Circuit Court.
Williams claims she received no notice, as there was not a wet floor sign and she wasn t aware that there was any danger.
The defendant failed to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition and failed to warn customers of the existence of a wet floor, according to the suit.
Charges against a Fayette County educator who was accused in 2017 of molesting two Nuttall Middle School students have been dismissed, due to a procedural issue, officials said Monday.

The recent assault on the Capitol building and the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic have upended all aspects of the 59th presidential inauguration.
When Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are sworn into office tomorrow in Washington, D.C., many of the traditional activities, such as the parade and inaugural balls, will be done virtually or skipped altogether.
It won’t be the first time, however, that an inauguration goes by a different script. Though circumstances were largely different, many previous presidential transition ceremonies were modified due to ongoing events, extreme weather, or simply because of the personal preference of the new commander-in-chief. Some involved rodeo tricks and flocks of birds, while others featured rowdy parties at the White House. One inauguration was even suspected to be the cause of the new president s untimely death.
