Depot employee arrested for theft

A 29-YEAR-OLD female employee of the Ours Depot at Oshakati was arrested and detained after allegedly stealing a huge swath of cash from her employer.
Oshana police community affairs officer, Inspector Thomas Aiyambo, said that the suspect walked away with a total N$99 217.20 at around 13:00 on Easter Sunday.
He said that the money is yet to be recovered.
A case of theft was opened with the Oshakati police against the suspect, who is set to appear in court this week.
In another unrelated incident, unknown suspects allegedly broke into the rental room at Okaku kaNangula village and walked away with items valued at N$ 14 000.

Johannes Simon (28) allegedly burned down Mulongeni s shack on Wednesday evening at Onambiba, Omatando village in the Ongwediva constituency after an argument.
He fled the scene and was arrested on Thursday. He appeared in the Oshakati Magistrate s Court on Friday on a charge of arson and was remanded in custody. The case was postponed for further investigation.
