For the first time, Mike Holmes has spoken publicly about a lawsuit that alleges houses in a “Holmes Approved Homes” housing development in Meaford, Ont. were built with defects, saying his company had no access to the houses during construction and was unable to help spot potential problems.
In its ongoing investigation of Terrace Wood, a housing development endorsed by Mike Holmes, CBC recently learned that consumer watchdog Tarion condemned three of the houses. CBC also uncovered documents showing Mike Holmes not only promoted the project, but also a company he's associated with loaned money to the builder.
The property development company owned by TV personality Mike Holmes is being sued, alongside a number of other parties, for at least $8 million after they were allegedly involved in the development and promotion of more than a dozen properties in Meaford, Ont. with "numerous deficiencies."
