Police say the driver of the white toyota 4runner was 50 yards away in another part of the parking lot and then witnesses said it sounded like he gunned his engine. His car began to lurch forward, driving over two sidewalks, then smashing into the tables here. Eight people injured, rushed to the hospital. San jose police say the driver may have had some sort of a medical emergency right before the collision. The driver was trying to park, and he may have accidentally the gas instead. We just, that update from police. Witnesses have seen video of discretion on social media. Three women and five men were struck. Two of them have life threatening injuries. There were a lot of people there, customers were eating lunch at the time the driver lost control.
