Twenty seven years ago today we moved our dairy operation to this farm, happy with the 200 acres it offered us even though over one quarter was treed, something the sales blurb reported incorrectly.
We had a 12-acre hardwood bush at the north end, a mixed 10-acre hard and softwood bush at the southeast corner and a 30-acre overgrown, one-time pasture at the west corner.

The hardwood bush was cleaned up and rejuvenated thanks to a Domtar program when we first arrived and we decided to keep the mixed bush, just clean up the edges. The decision was made the 30 acres of primarily poplar and scrub trees could go to make way for more hay land.
