korea. i don t know that there is a republican party. it is absolutely outrageous. talk about our tax bill for a second. just a few of the highlights, if you call them at. individuals, doubled standards and eliminate personal exemptions, repealing tax deductions hurting people in states like new york, advances taxes to corporations cuts rate to 20% lowers taxes for real estate development firms like donald trump s. you 1ed, add about $1.4 trillion to the deficit and raise taxes on the poorest americans. we ve talked earlier including with other republicans former republicans saying once this thing passes, the thing that paul ryan and republicans have wanted most, really, to slash taxes on the wealthy. raise them on the poor and cut into entitlements. once they do that and don t need donald trump anymore, do you think that is the point at which republicans drop him? i don t know. some people are saying that they just wanted to get past this tax scam that they re doing.
consideration the things that heller is saying republicans need to pay attention to when it comes to this bill. democrats have come out very strongly against this bill. hillary clinton calling the gop a death party if this thing passes. a very strong statement. she writes, forget death panels, if republicans pass this bill, they re the death party. for democrats it seems like statements are really the only thing they re going to be able to do to stop this bill. if mcconnell gets enough votes. what the left is trying to do and what they probably will continue to try to do is highlight how problematic they believe this bill is and target quite frankly conservative lawmakers in districts that they hope they can win. so that their voters will see who voted for it and who voted against it. and they ll probably going to try to hold these people accountable in forthcoming elections, i think what s going to be very interesting is whether or not conservatives listen to what the left is sayi
several thousand times. the $20 trillion of debt that is overhanging. all of that has to change and starts with tax reform and government reform. they better started somewhere. if this thing passes, i don t know how they re going to pick it up in 18 because it s an election year. neil: good stuff, gary. thanks. a read on how this is affecting the republican party and the political environment right now. jenna from the washington examiner. a very good read on what is happening out there. i m looking at this and saying everything i believe in life as in markets, built on expectations. expectations we ll get something on taxes this year. let me just say a hypothetical, what if we don t? it s a big problem for us. one of which donald trump, a newly elected president and speaker ryan who has been in for a little bit, neither one have any major legislative accomplishments at this point. if we can t get anything done after the freedom caucus helped
the documents that will make it easier for 4 million to 5 million people to participate in our election process. that s the sample of the house conservatives. 52 voted against the three-week extension. a number of them lining up against this today. this thing passes, it will go to the president and he will sign it. interesting to me as one that likes to watch the news. beside sit up here and chat about it, i like to watch it and read about it. this happened this thing that was frankly dividing republicans in their party. no doubt about it. mike reported just as much there. that happened under cover of this all that s been happening today. so did the former c.i.a. director, david petraeus, admitting that pleading guilty to charges that he shared classified material with a woman for her book. that came out at three minutes past 11:00, at exactly the same time the prime minister began to
is simply unsustainable. if you like your plan, you can keep your plan. if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. the time for talk is over. it s time to vote. march 2010, three days before the health care vote in congress. by the time the vote has taken place not only i will know wh what s in it, you will know what s in it because it will be posted and everybody can evaluate it on the merits. mr. president, you couldn t tell me what the special deals are in or not today. i just told you. is connecticut in? connecticut what are you specifically referring to? $100 million for the hospital. is montana in for the asbestos program. is listen, there are people this is real money. people are worried about this stuff. as i said before, this the final provisions are going to be posted for at many days before this thing passes. then house speaker nancy pelosi s comments about the bill quickly became infamous.
