discover a murder, they don t say, oh, well, i m just looking at a bank robbery, so we ll push this murder off to the side. they send is murder on to the right prosecutors. and that s exactly what mueller s done here. john? let s just say one thing. last week we had a report from mcclatchy which said that michael cohen, that the search that bob mueller has evidence that michael cohen did, in fact, take this now alleged, infamous, alleged trip to prague, that s alleged in the steele dossier, which is where some of the streams cross here. but has anybody confirmed that other than mcclatchy? no one has confirmed it as of now. are you comfortable repeating that on the air? that mcclatchy reported it, they re a reputable news organization. i m not saying it s true. but isn t it interesting that something that is that serious. that s my fear as well. that everybody is getting out of i saw this time and time again in the 90s with bill
statements of people that say other than what they say. and the statement of rosenstein s remarks, they don t say what the president said they said. and frankly when this operation began in 2014 when the president wasn t running yet, i would say two things. he was publicly flirting with running and people knew it. and this is frankly about being against hillary clinton in large measure. it s short of a strong man, either there was collusion or there wasn t. and either his campaign officials were involved in this or they weren t. and this has nothing to do with it whether it was pre-2014. and there s a lot of people who say it s not about you but about the country. i think at this point people in the white house consider it a victory if they can keep him from attacking robert mueller, and this is yet another day where they managed to do that despite this indictment.

and having our government function and that s good. what about the quality of this argument here, though? from the president s side, often the attacks are not substantive. they don t say, i disagree on this issue of policy or this piece of intelligence, whether it s classified or not, but he s firing broadsides at the fbi here. the fbi s in tatters, going after the integrity, in effect, of senior fbi officials, similar to what we heard attacks at the intelligence agencies, comparing them to nazi germany with charges of surveillance. is that quality of attack, in your view, acceptable for a president? what s new here is not that people are arguing and arguing intensively. it s that they re arguing intensively publicly because of the technology, in terms of twitter in this case. it s just as if, for example, these days and times the russians are interfering all over the place with elections in
