Joe Wieskamp Has Probably Played His Final Game For Iowa

Joe Wieskamp Has Probably Played His Final Game For Iowa Iowa guard Joe Wieskamp first went through the evaluation process of the NBA Draft after his freshman season when he started all 35 games and averaged more than 11 points per game. Two years ago, Hawkeye fans weren t too worried he wouldn t return. Now, with his junior season completed, Wieskamp has announced that he s preparing to go through the process again. This time, Iowa fans should be very concerned that they could lose the guy who s probably their best returning player. During the just-completed 2020-21 season, Wieskamp showed just how important aggressiveness is to his game. Especially during the second half of the season, he was brilliant at times. If not for the ankle injury that slowed him toward the end of the year, Joe was on a huge upward trajectory. It s also no accident that as Wieskamp s intensity on the defensive end improved, so did Iowa s. In a word, Wieskamp was and is key to Iowa s success.

Former Iowa Hawkeye Star Cook Signs Multi-Year Deal With Pistons Tyler Cook has finally made it. As an Iowa fan, I m so excited to see him get to take his impressive thunder dunks to the pro level.full time.  Earlier this year, the 23 year-old Cook, played in eight games with the Iowa Wolves of the NBA’s G League (in Des Moines). Then the Brooklyn Nets were looking to add some young front-court depth, when they signed Cook to a 10-day contract, he ended up playing in four games for the Nets. In mid-March, the 6-8, 255, Cook got his audition with the Detroit Pistons. He signed a 10-day contract with Detroit on March 18, followed by a second 10-day deal on March 28.  He has appeared in 11 games with the Pistons averaging 4.0 points (63% FG), and 2.8 rebounds in 13.8 minutes per game.
