Paul Roos has long been associated with North Melbourne people during his coaching career.
John Longmire, who kicked 511 goals in 200 games and won two premierships with the Kangaroos, worked under Roos when Sydney won their drought-breaking flag in 2005.
Another former Kangaroo to work with Roos is 219-game dual premiership forward Brett Allison when the two joined forces at Melbourne.

“When I was doing the interview, it got me thinking about my strange connection with North Melbourne,” he told
