Loan Rangers: End of the road for Oxford

Loan Rangers: Mixed week for our R's

Loan Rangers: Mixed week for our R’s Share article: IN what was a very up and down week for our loan Rangers, it was shot stopper Liam Kelly who once again caught the headlines as his spell with Motherwell ended. Following the conclusion of the 2020/21 season, Kelly’s side lost 2-1 to Ross County on the final day of the campaign, but it was recognition off the field which will be remembered from the R’s keeper. Kelly was a comfortable winner of the Players Player of the Year award, capping of a fine spell for the 25-year-old at the Well.

Loan Rangers: Shodipo heads to the play-offs

Loan Rangers: Shodipo heads to the play-offs Share article: IN WHAT was the final round of league fixtures for many of our Loan Rangers, winger Mide Shodipo and his Oxford United team caught the headlines. Heading into the weekend in Sky Bet League One, Oxford knew they needed to win - and Portsmouth had to drop points - for them to sneak into the top six. And that’s exactly what happened. An emphatic 4-0 victory over Burton Albion was enough to seal their place in this year’s play-offs at the expense of Pompey, who lost at home to Accrington Stanley.

Loan Rangers: Kelly stars again

Loan Rangers: Kelly stars again Share article: IN what was the penultimate round of league fixtures for many of our loan Rangers, it was shot stopper Liam Kelly and his Motherwell side that caught the headlines as they continue their push up the Scottish Premiership. A fine 2-0 victory over Kilmarnock on Saturday, a win which included another superb display from the R’s loanee saw ‘the Well’ clinch their third consecutive league victory since the league split last month. Devante Cole and Stephen O’Donnell got the goals, but a great performance from Kelly in between the sticks saw the 25-year-old being on hand to deny former Norwich City man Kyle Lafferty on numerous occasions, ensuring that Kelly was able to hold on to yet another clean sheet.
