Constable Themba Sangweni was sentenced to 15 years in prison for the murder of Nomathamsanqa Khoboi on Monday.
Khoboi was shot and killed at a tavern in Vosloorus on 8 February 2020, exactly a year ago.
Sangweni will be appealing the sentence.
A police constable who shot and killed Nomathamsanqa Khoboi in a tavern in Vosloorus, Gauteng has been sentenced to 15 years in jail a year to the day of her death.
Constable Themba Sangweni appeared for sentencing in the Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg on Monday, a year after Khoboi was murdered.
On 8 February 2020, Sangweni and Khoboi were at a tavern when Sangweni accused the deceased of stealing his cellphone after she had lured him into having sex with her.
