Gauteng man sentenced to 2 life terms for murdering 2 minor sons by poisoning them
Sanele Magaqa, a DA member of the Eastern Cape Legislature, appeared in court for allegedly assaulting a woman in Keiskammahoek in 2017.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), Magaqa, 42, and his co-accused, Thembela Dyongwana, 36, appeared in the Keiskammahoek Magistrate s Court on Wednesday.
They faced charges of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
The State alleges Magaqa attended a traditional ceremony with Dyongwana, who was accompanied by his girlfriend, in December 2017 at the Lower Gxulu Administrative Area in Keiskammahoek. It is alleged the lovers got into a heated argument, which led to Dyongwana assaulting her, NPA spokesperson Anelisa Ngcakani said.
