GEORGE NEWS - For this year s celebration of Library Week (15 - 21 March), George library has incorporated two important themes as part of their display: water and human rights.
Library Week and Water Week (15 to 22 March) literally run together, and both Human Right s Day and National Poetry Day fall on Sunday 21 March.
Local libraries will run the following exciting programmes:
• Thembalethu Library will arrange an online story reading for the age group that still may not enter the library. They will also hold a poetry reading tomorrow,
Tuesday 16 March with local poet, Nkosinathi Meziwa, who launched his poetry book,

GEORGE NEWS - George Municipality hereby confirms that it is open for business, services are being rendered and administration buildings are open except for halls, venues and sport facilities.
While in-person services are rendered where required, we appeal to the public to consider doing transactions and business online, per telephone or via email to avoid coming to the municipality in person and helping to reduce the risk of spreading the virus.
