Julie checkoway is the author of the memoir, little sister, searching for the shadow world of chinese people, and a collection of essays on fiction writing. Also the director of the documentary, leaning for hawk, which premiered at the tribeca film festival. Her work has appeared in the New York Times Salt Lake Tribune and the huffington post.
