With its eyes on alternative, transformative theater, Theatre Titas officially begins its rehearsals for the 20th-anniversary presentation of Christian Vallez’s, AKA Juan Ekis, one-act play 'Twenty Questions,' which won a Don Carlos Palanca award in 2003, and has been staged on countless occasions officially and unofficially by schools and theater companies.
The first play, dubbed
Stages, is an examination of the duality of the grieving process from the eyes of both the bereaved and the deceased written by
Mickey Martinez and
Michael Fuentes and directed by
Cheese Mendez. The story revolves around James, who struggles to get through the different stages of grief due to the death of his wife Angel.
Next up is
Pakiramdaman, a video call rom-com gone wrong.
Juan Ekis directs a seemingly mundane hangout session that takes a turn for the worse. In an attempt to comfort a friend foolishly in love, three friends play a bad joke and try to summon the guy who “ghosted” her. After a seance, they are left with more than a broken heart to fix.
