I am stephanie ruhle. We begin this evening in washington, d. C. Where lawyers for former president Donald J Trump have responded to Special Counsel jack smith request for a Protective Order in the 2020 election case. Trumps team countered with a narrower Protective Order that would allow him to publicly discuss some of the evidence collected by the government ahead of the trial. The Special Counsels office came back just hours later urging judge chutkan to forego and additional hearing and sign off on the governments proposed Protective Order. Jack smiths team said donald trump once to try this case in the media rather than in the courtroom. And our friend Glenn Kushner Glenn Kirschner said it best last week, judge tanya chutkan, she doesnt play. And we saw that tonight when she wasted no time responding at nine pm on monday night, ordering to see both sides and getting them to agree on a time for a hearing on this Protective Order, on or before this friday. All this after the former
Jonathan capehart, who just wrapped up an Exclusive Interview with president joe biden. Touching on several issues, including the term that he regrets using during the state of the Union Address. I shouldnt have used it. It is undocumented. When i spoke about the difference between trump and me, one of the things i talked about was the way he talks about vermin, these people polluting. I talked about what im not going to do. What i wont do. I will not treat any of these people with disrespect. The president also addressed the situation in gaza. And had appointed a message for israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu. He has a right to defend israel. The right to continue to pursue hamas. He must, you must, he must pay more attention to the innocent lives being lost as a consequence. I want to see a ceasefire. We have all of the highlights on the Special Edition of the saturday show. Weve got a big show with you tonight. The reason im in the chair, Jonathan Capehart is currently trave

despite my relative ignorance, total ignorance about the traitors. i have still not found my tie, though. have you not? no. but the merit of losing it and, actually, i think it was worth losing it for this is that i briefly got to go on scott mills show on radio 2. 0h, 0k. because he asked me, well, where is your tie, have you found it? so i sent him a little voice note saying, you know and this is still true as we record now i don t know where it has gone. and the ripples then spread out and even i got dragged into this because martin lewis put out a tweet to his, like, 10 million followers saying that i had probably nicked it. so i then had to sort of defend myself. i haven t worn a tie for several years. i haven t worn one all day yet because i still can t find it. anyway, i am going to take my traitors cloak of because, a, it is quite hot. also, we did ask the traitors if we could have one of the real ones. they said, no, they are wearing it on the one show tonig
