give us an update. i unsderstand that the military is out in force. where are the demonstrators? the military has rolled in here and quite a large number of armored personnel carriers. it s quite an amazing scene here deployed into other places throughout the central area of alexandria. crowds are rushing up to greet the soldiers, to slap them on the backs, to shake their hands to say that they are here in solidarity and to protect them, they said. there s an overwhelming sense that the people here on the streets have been in violent protest and riot with the police and burning police stations and other parts of the building in the city through the day. here, suddenly a warm, friendly atmosphere with the army, a completely different atmosphere
