During President Biden’s first address to Congress, Rep. Lisa McClain was on Twitter, tweeting what she undoubtedly thought were snappy comebacks to the president. As Mr. Biden spoke about expanded access to healthcare for all, a jobs-focused infrastructure plan, and policies to end child poverty in America, McClain shot back irrational comments like, “Finish the wall now!”
Her most confounding retort came when Biden spoke passionately about our government being comprised of us, We the People. He reminded us that our Founding Fathers gave us an amazing system based on the idea that power belongs not to a monarch or a military-backed tyrant, but to the people. A government of the people, by the people, for the people.
