CARSON CITY Single lane closures will happen this Friday and Saturday on U.S. 50 east of Dayton as the Nevada Department of Transportation paints a cattle guard across the highway to reduce horses entering the roadway.
The Nevada Department of Agriculture and Return to Freedom, under a cooperative agreement, are working with the Nevada Department of Transportation as they install livestock fencing on sections of Highway 50 in Silver Springs. The project is expected to be completed in late August.
UPDATE 7:59PM: I-580 northbound at the Galena Bridge has reopened, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol. Snow was still coming down at around 8 p.m. The Nevada Department of Transportation has plows and sand trucks in the area. NHP advises the roadway remains icy and snow-covered.
