moore s policy agenda endangered the children of alabama. the adamant denials by the moore campaign have been equated by his critics to victim blaming. there have been at least two women accusing him of sexual assault when they were cheen e teenagers. of course, the women have said that they felt intimidated and felt no one would listen to them if they came out at the time that these alleged incidents happened. a lot of people are listening now. all right. watching the very latest for us. we appreciate it. we are talking about a man, judge roy moore who is running for a seat in the united states senate. what does president trump say about the accusations against this republican accused now by eight women of some kind of sexual misconduct? really, nothing. not a word specifically. not a tweet directly condemning
in one of these large moving, slow-moving car parks as they re calling it. what do you think the best course of action is for anybody in a car on one of these interstates? reporter: you have to watch where you are and for awhile, being in your car is still the safest place. that s when the hail is coming down. if you re in a hail core, you can t get outside with baseball size hail coming down. there s no place for you to be. unless you can find an underpass or something and that s not the place to be when the tornado comes. so the best place to be for awhile at least is in your vehicle but if you see the circulation getting 60, 70 miles per hour or if you see the tornado coming your way, you absolutely must get out of your car. we took pictures today and i wish we could have fed them to you. i just didn t get a chance. we never got another a satellite truck. we took pictures of the cars hit by the moore tornado. when that tornado was done with the cars there was no room for you left
comes to the weather. how are they coping? how are folks on the ground doing? well, i think everyone was a little nervous yesterday, just because we have been telling them the last three days there was the potential for storms. they started building rapidly, talking within an hour, i was watching my radar, because i was on out by the moore area, on i-35, where it hit last time and i had my phone up and watching the weather and a looping storm and i said we better get back to the city and get into operations and within 30 minutes, it had, you know, turned into a full-blown storm. within an hour, we had tornado sirens going off throughout oklahoma city, which is right attached to el reno. so they were rapidly forming, high-building supercell storms that were coming up and then just twisters dropping in and out.
thousands of people actually evacuated the area, i can tell from you a firsthand perspective. you couldn t get a hotel for 80 miles around this area. authorities are asking for people who don t have to come back to really stay out of the area while they continue to try to repair all the power outages. as you can see, really an area that just was hit by the moore tornado getting hit again. seems like they simply can t catch a breck right now. back to you. thank you very much. kelly? as we mentioned, there were at least 24 tornadoes that touched down over the area and now we are learning that those twisters were coming from at least three different directions, moving in and out of clouds as they tore through the area. apparently packing hurricane force winds and heavy amounts of rain and hail. meteorologist janis dean is live in the fox extreme weather center with more details. yeah. we re starting to get some survey reports from the national weather service. they re finding ef-3
the state level. thank you very, very much and job well done to help some people that are in need. this has been a big a tragedy for the state. and it s not easy to handle something of this magnitude. i know people have worked around the clock and have put in extremely long hours and very dangerous circumstances helping our fellow oklahomans and we are very grateful for all of you. i want to give you a couple of updates on some things we have unified command led by the moore fire department. they have done a superb job in working with their local officials here and certainly with our state and federal officials. they have a plan. they are immelting the plan and they have since yesterday. i have been to their command headquarters. i have seen them organize their various teams. they have the map of the city itself. both moore and oklahoma
