to make decisions. let s discuss with our senior political analyst kristin powers and april ryan, white house correspondent and washington bureau chief of the grillo. good evening to you. thanks for joining. april, i ll begin with you. the former president in this new interview talked about the tradeoffs he had to make did you go his presidency, whether it was more important to get real on race in america or get policy done on things like health care and so on. is the calculation the same or different now for the biden administration? i believe the calculation is different. he is indeed a transformational president. i believe once this presidency is over, he will be viewed, if everything he s trying to do as it relates to race and equity goes through, he will be viewed as one of those pillars in america. but when you come to then-president obama, he had different circumstances. race and politics will always

come from this hearing? there wasn t a lot that was new there. i think that it gave republicans in the house and an opportunity to really hit them hard in terms of what they knew, when they knew it and it was a real sign that this is not going, they re not going to let up on this at all. they said they want to have a lot of answers. there could be a criminal probe that is going start so certainly as much as obama ands had administration wants to move on from this, there s not any sense that conservatives will give them that opportunity. okay. let s check out this new article on the grillo. it focuses on the conservative heritage organization which sent that letter to house speaker john boehner and house majority leader eric cantor. this letter urges the gop to not bring forward any new legislation and focus these current controversies that are bombarding the obama administration. if republicans follow that advice, perry do they risk overplaying their hand here? i do think they risk
