this film did not disappoint. the action takes place in two realms, the real world and barbieland, filled with barbies and kens. but is life in plastic really as fantastic as it seems? we follow barbie, portrayed by margot robbie, as she goes on an adventure to the real world to restore herself after she starts to malfunction. her mission to find the human playing with her and discover why they are unhappy so that her life can go back to normal. where are we going? in the nearly two hour film, a lot goes down. there are dance battles, ballads, and interesting takes on the patriarchy and womanhood that have resonated with many. greta gerwig s barbie pays homage to the iconic doll,
