make some effort to cooperate with the committee. obviously mark meadows handed over information before he stopped cooperating. we learned the department of justice did not find enough to bring criminal charges which is a blow to the committee s ability to enforce subpoenas at this time. we are looking at public hearings coming up through june. it is really crunch time for the committ committee. there are still subpoenas for five lawmakers they have not been able to enforce. we will see how it effects the investigation and the impact on the hearings. this is a big blow to the committee. this news about meadows and scavino is coming the same way the former white house peter navarro was indicted. what consequences could he face if convicted? reporter: unlike meadows and scavino, navarro made no evidence to negotiate with the
prosecutors and investigators, if you get cooperation, you can cut some slack in return. what peter navarro did was so indefensible, he had no leg to stand on. this is a case where you can complain about the committee and challenge the committee in court. you can go on television and say you think they are all a bunch of s.o.b.s. you can tell them you want to refuse to cooperate or invoke your fifth amendment right. the one thing you can t do is ignore the subpoena and pretend it didn t happen and say you will not show any cooperation. that is contemptuous. it happens to be against the law. if peter navarro thinks he can run out the law or loyal to donald trump that he wants to say nothing and make a point of raising a middle finger to the united states congress, well, they will strike back. that s what they did. he is now claiming his arrest
