The Hurricanes’ “Moms Trip” started with a big road win at Boston. They were back at PNC Arena on Thursday night, enjoying the Canes’ win over New Jersey.
Martin Necas scored for the second straight game and Michael Bunting also scored for Carolina, but the Hurricanes were without injured forward Andrei Svechnikov and had a hard time against goalie Filip Gustavsson.
The Hurricanes stopped the Red Wings’ seven-game point streak while beating former Carolina goalie Alex Lyon. Goalie Antti Raanta made 10 saves to earn the win.
