i ve seen it actually occur on campaigns where press get back on the press bus and say how are you going to report this story in i m going to say this. what do you stph-pbg that s not the way journalism should be reported to the public. they should not be in the business of making news themselves. they should be in the business of reporting news. martha: it was an interesting mix, doug. you sort of have more mainstream journalists dipping into this discussion on line and some of them sort of taking some of those ideas and incorporating them into what they re reporting. you know, some might argue that this is the way the dialogue goes, they saw sarah palin as a threat, they were trying to figure out how to take her down. that may be true, martha. again, i don t have any real problem with opinion journalists sharing their views, but as brad suggests, when they decide in advance how to present the story and mainstream editors participate, there s a hint of conspiring to control the news
