Domantas Sabonis had 27 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists, Malik Monk made two critical free throws with 13 seconds left in overtime and the Sacramento Kings rallied after trailing late in the fourth quarter to beat the Portland Trail Blazers 121-118 on Wednesday night. Monk scored Sacramento’s final nine points in regulation but was scoreless in overtime before getting fouled by Toumani Camara. Monk calmy sank both free throws to put the Kings ahead by three.
The Memphis Grizzlies knew that a win would eventually come, sooner rather than later. Desmond Bane had 30 points and the Grizzlies won for the first time this season, rallying late to beat the Portland Trail Blazers 112-100 on Sunday night. Jaren Jackson Jr. added 27 points for the Grizzlies, who opened the season with six straight losses, most since the 2002-03 season when the team opened 0-13.
Shaedon Sharpe's cold made his voice a bit raspy, but it didn't impact his sense of humor. Sharpe had a pair of clutch free throws and a block that sent the game to overtime before the Portland Trail Blazers beat the Memphis Grizzlies 115-113 in their In-Season Tournament opener Friday night. Despite fighting that cold, Sharpe finished with 22 points and played a team-high 46 minutes.
