new, robust program that had similar goals and that brings us today to date. this is what we know, the president tomorrow will be announcing plans as you ve been saying to increase nasa s budget by $6 million over five years. some of that will be to overhaul activities here. to modernize the equipment there and it also has a shift in priorities that you re talking about. a lot of what we ll be learning is moving some money from nasa s human spaceflight program to other spaceflight programs including robotics. there are all sort of robotics programs that nasa operates and a lot of them are looking at mars, tony. there are great things on the website about what mars looks like and robot missions to get to mars, explorations. the goal remains to eventually get people to mars, but in the meantime, the president s plan is going to pump federal funds into private companies to develop spacecraft to ferry astronauts, but the critical contact for this, what we use to
alternative. we ve been going at it ever since. i work here in the day. in the evenings, i take care of this. the t. shuttle has cleared the tower. i group up on shuttle. i ve been working at the shuttle since i was 18 years old. so i pretty much live and breathe this stuff. i really enjoy what i do. we just want to put our hands on it. one of the things that we found very intriguing, as well as very beneficial to the workforce is our entrepreneurial program that we have, that is, so you think you want to own your own business, where they get to see what it means to be in business for themselves. i lock up here and go over and meet you. i took the class and i took it because i did want to see where some of the challenges were of opportunities or of things that i could do better. it s pretty easy. once you get the hang of it i think like a vehicle where you ve got some pretty complex problems.
flight. the whole space shuttle is a very amazing vehicle. we look at it as the eighth wonder of the world. ignition, liftoff of aries. would i necessarily be on the next program? maybe not, but the fact that the work i ve done on this program, you know, in my history would make me a viable candidate for the next program. knowing now that we don t have a next program standing there to step into tomorrow, for me, it s a little bit frustrating because the united states has been the leader in space for many years. go ahead and walk out here. you realize that only a few people in the world get to do this because it looks like the main engines, two and three. you save for your retirement and we all know the next couple of years those 401s, took a severe beating. we get to see a couple of our
