STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. It was a time like no other. The year 2020 will be forever remembered for the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic with the global crisis hitting New York City in March, bringing with it sorrow and tragedy of unparalleled proportions. Yet, Staten Islanders showed and continue to demonstrate amazing resilience through it all.
The Advance/SILive.com was able to publish some incredible images of hope throughout the year.
As we combed through the photos some taken by our photographers, others submitted to us we found so much to be grateful for over the past 12 months. Moments such as 11 newborn babies pictured together prior to the pandemic, a 60-year-old coronavirus patient being released from the hospital, and, of course, small acts of kindness.
