 17 Mar 2021 - 9:05 QNA Doha: Member of the Arab Parliament and the Shura Council in the State of Qatar H E Dr. Aisha bint Youssef Al Mannai affirmed Qatar s commitment to ensuring that women play an active role in development. She highlighted that Qatar National Vision 2030 supports the empowerment of women in all fields.  This came during a talk organized by the Qatari Forum for Authors as part of an initiative that shed light on women leaders in the country. She highlighted the appointment of four women in the Shura Council. She said that Qatar is working on promoting democratic practices by holding municipal council elections and Shura Council elections in the future. She praised the role of many women occupying leadership positions in the state, highlighting that the main factor for choosing any leadership position is merit.
