Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Andrew Goledzinowski has affirmed that the northwestern region remains the focus of the expanded bilateral partnership between Australia and Vietnam, especially in terms of clean water, agriculture, transport infrastructure, women's economic empowerment, tourism and private sector development.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on January 14 urged the labour, invalids and social sector to take stronger determination in 2023 to complete its tasks, towards spreading the spirit of kindness; accelerating human resources developmentl and promoting social progress and justice, and sustainable social development in line with the motto of “leaving no one behind”.
Vietnam will play host to the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) in May, the major international event that presents a golden opportunity for the domestic tourism sector to attract foreign visitors after two years of closures caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

A new tour which explores former Thang Long Royal Citadel at night has been launched, offering a 40% discount for visitors under 50 and free admissions to all children.
The night tour opens ahead of National Reunification Day on April 30 and Labour Day on May 1.
Tours lasting for 90 minutes start at 6 p.m., 6:30 p.m., and 7 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday. Visitors are required to wear face masks, use hand sanitizer and limit gathering in crowds as part of anti-coronavirus measures.
