Between January 17 and January 20, TVP were alerted of the con by those who live in Newton Longville near Milton Keynes, after several members of the public were purporting to be police officers. It has not been reported on how many people have been tricked into the scam, and the amount of money that has been stolen has not been revealed. In a statement that was published on Thames Valley Police Aylesbury Vale’s Facebook page, they said: “We have had two reports over the last three days of persons purporting to be police officers calling members of the public in the Newton Longville area.
