It was a full-circle moment for South Africa's youngest female doctor Thakgalo Thibela when she bumped into the obstetrician who helped bring her into the world 23 years ago at the same hospital where she was doing her community service.
It's been a challenging year for young doctors as many grapple with career uncertainty brought on mostly by budget cuts and the long-standing issue of placements for community service.
It has not been smooth sailing for two of South Africa’s youngest doctors, as they have had to deal with tremendous workloads at medical school, which sometimes left them demotivated.
