本次赛事由澜湄青年交流合作中心、复旦大学、泰国宋卡王子大学、上海市对外文化交流协会、青海省玉树藏族自治州人民政府等主办。YICMG2021克服了疫情带来的重重阻碍，为澜湄六国青年再度搭建起跨国合作交流沟通的平台。
泰国宋卡王子大学总校校长Niwat Keawpradub表示：“流域六国的青年学生能够通过YICMG这一平台不断创新，并让创新真正惠益大众生活，这为六国青年培育全球意识、提升跨国合作能力提供了宝贵机遇。”
决赛期间，YICMG专家委员会会议举行，确定了2022年YICMG赛事主题为“公共卫生与医疗保障(Public Health and Medical Care)”。
据了解，本届YICMG在初选阶段收集到澜湄六国8所高校的63件学生作品，近200人次的澜湄青年积极参与。经国际专家委员会通讯评审，共计17支队伍、51名选手脱颖而出，进入决赛。
