I’ve really been craving Asian food lately, and though there are good Chinese and Japanese options near RAF Lakenheath and RAF Mildenhall, I had yet to find a good Thai place. But then my eureka moment came in the form of Thai Street Cafe, right off of High Street in Newmarket, England.

Need a vaccine?
As of Monday, May 17, the Washington State Department of Health reports:
5,622 Covid-19 related deaths; 389,882 confirmed cases; 32,783 probable cases; and a 1.3% death rate among positive cases.
Compared to white people and Asian people, the rate of Covid cases is nearly three times higher for Black people, and nearly seven times higher for Latino/x people and Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islanders.
So far, 6,152,091 doses (not total number of people) of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered to Washingtonians. A total of 44.9% of eligible people in Washington state have been fully vaccinated; and 51.9% of eligible people in King County have been fully vaccinated.

I’m not the only one who’s overindulged in takeaways during lockdown – I know! Besides the perennial options of our local Indian and Chinese, we’ve been thoroughly spoilt. Afternoon tea boxes. Picnic parcels, Smoked meats. Gourmet burgers. Artisanal meal kits. We’ve tried them all. And, for the most part, they’ve been fabulous.
But I’ve still not been able to quiet the nagging part of my brain that’s desperate to go ‘out out’. And in the lead up to this review I’d hoped to get that opportunity (I’ve had my greedy eyes on a place for weeks now). But, alas, inclement weather on the horizon put paid to my plans and, not wanting to be one of ‘those’ people (the kind who book and cancel), it was back to the drawing board, and a hunt for an interesting takeaway option.
