NDO – Chairman of the Hanoi People s Committee Chu Ngoc Anh has asked local authorities, agencies and the people to focus all their efforts to ensuring safety against COVID-19 during national election day on May 23.
At an online meeting of the Hanoi Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control held on May 21, Anh, who is also the head of the committee, noted that, with election day coming up, all levels, sectors and people need to thoroughly grasp the direction of the Prime Minister, to absolutely not be negligent or let down vigilance against the epidemic.

Scaffolding collapsed from the second floor of a construction project in the northern Vietnamese province of Thai Binh on Tuesday afternoon, resulting in the fatalities of three workers.
According to a source close to
Tuoi Tre (Youth) Newspaper, the accident happened at around 6:35 pm when three workers on a four-member construction team were plastering walls on the second floor.
The sudden scaffolding collapse from a height of 5.5 meters sent workers to the concrete floor, killing two people on the spot and seriously injuring another, who was later reported dead at Thai Binh Provincial General Hospital that same day.
