As part of safety precautions and preparations ahead of Ramadan, the UAE’s authorities have stepped up inspections to ensure the public’s compliance with the guidelines put in place to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Inspectors of the Sharjah Municipality have launched a crackdown on violators at shopping centres and food estblishments.
“A circular has also been distributed to all outlets, detailing the measures that they need to observe throughout Ramadan,” said Thabit Al Turaifi, director-general of the municipality.
Sharjah: Sharjah City Municipality (SCM) has undertaken a series of steps to to improve and develop the building system in the emirate, raise efficiency of buildings, and increase their quality and lifespan.
The municipality has carried out several development studies and held many engineering conferences, lectures, workshops and seminars towards this end.
Thabit Al Turaifi, Director General of Sharjah Municipality, said that the municipality is among the oldest municipalities in the country, dating back to 1927. It has a long-standing database since the first building permit was archived in 1961 that includes detailed data for each building from the beginning of its establishment, the stages of its implementation until the stage of completion and the issuance of a certificate of completion.
Sharjah: Sharjah City Municipality continued its inspection campaigns to evict bachelors and violators from the family areas in Sharjah City, in cooperation with Sharjah police and Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority.
This move comes in line with the directives of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.
Thabit Al Turaifi, Director General of Sharjah Municipality, said that the civic authority has carried out 3,000 inspections, which has resulted in the eviction of 13,000 violators and bachelors so far. The inspection teams have taken the necessary legal and administrative measures against all kinds of illegal housing. He pointed out that the Sharjah Municipality has expanded the scope of these campaigns to include residential towers in several areas of the emirate.
