think pretty well. he basically is pushing the buttons that mean something to them. christian conservatives, fiscal conservatives, tea party activists. yesterday in san antonio where mitt romney is now, he talked about a muscular military future. the kinds of things that republicans want to hear. and he did it in a way and does it in a way that the republican base wants him to do it as a fighter. they want somebody to get into the ring against barack obama, and he wants to project himself as that guy. so mitt romney s texas tour stop this morning, staying on message. but whether it s here or the next stop, is he really going to try and challenge perry within the state of texas on things? the indication from inside the perry camp and their expectations, he may not directly do that. the romney people believe that the media, the democrats, and system of perry s other rivals
but if he apologizes because he didn t articulate it the way he wanted to and people are offended, is an apology appropriate at that point? i am saying we should ignore the lame-stream, leftist media criticism what have we seasay in an interview. don t let them make us change our positions. it sounded pretty clear to me that newt gingrich s position, because he articulated this, was that paul ryan s plan would be social engineering and he didn t like t. i believe he made the apology because the media dinged him on. would he have made the apology otherwise? i don t know. come on tfiscal conservatives, let s stay strong and principled, so the electorate has a true choice coming into this election, who they will allow to surface to lead this great nation. don t let the mainstream media dictate what the debate is going to be about. this is a great thing. i think people apologize too
across the country when the president rolled out what he said was a pay freeze for all government workers. and this was applauded by fiscal conservatives, by republicans, everyone across the board wanted to reduce government spending in the deficit. turns out it wasn t the entire truth, was it, guys? well, no, if you listen to the president s words on november 29th, you ll hear this and then you can sort of pars them. let s listen first and talk about it after. today i m proposing a two year pay freeze for all civilian federal workers, this would save 2 billion dollars over the rest of this fiscal year and 28 billion dollars in cumulative savings in the next five years. the pay freeze in the real world moons your salary stays the same and this year it stays the same. and the following year, if you make 40,000 today, you ll make it for the next three years, that s not the case on capitol hill. what the president was talking about there was a cost of living increase. federal worker
