New executive appointed to Lucky 17
Lucky 17, the production company spun out of comedy agency UTC, has appointed a new executive to develop its own scripted shows.
Eleanor Lawrence, formerly a writer on Amazon’s Flack and Sky Atlantic’s Sunshine Simon, will also be a partner in the firm.
The company was set up by David Geli and Polyanna McGirr, who also run the agency UTC Artist Management, representing acts including Mo Gilligan, Dane Baptiste, Tez Ilyas and Russell Hicks.
Lucky 17 previously oversaw project for UTC projects including Gilligan’s Netflix special, Momentum.
Geli is also manager of Up The Creek comedy club in Greenwich, South London, which gives the company its name.
Los Bitchos are among the acts signed up for Ventnor Fringe. MULTI award-winning arts festival Ventnor Fringe has announced a raft of acts for its ten day celebration of the arts this summer. The Fringe, which features gigs, comedy and performances in pop-up venues throughout Ventnor, will return for an extended ten day edition from July 23 to August 1. In recent years it has become an important testing ground for artists premiering new material, running in the lead up to Edinburgh Festival Fringe. A host of new acts have been announced including RuPaul’s Drag Race UK contestant Joe Black who will be previewing new show Decopunk.
