Im delighted to be here with two distinguished scholars to moderate this debate on the question should the Electoral College be as you are aware, the constitution establishes an Electoral College for choosing the president meeting in their respective states, the electors vote by ballot for the president and Vice President. Alexander hamilton wrote in federalist 68 that the Electoral College will provide a practicable obstacle 2 intrigue and corruption, he said that it would impose capable discernment for deliberation over the selection of the president. Hamilton thought the system best designed to vent, and disorder. As we head into the 2020 president ial election, debates about the Electoral College once again emerge over the desired voting of our constitutions method. These young people are part of a community present day Central America they belong to a Christian Group known as mennonites, ultra conservative protestants, who shoot the modern world. Im going to give you a little bit of history here, so president ial and Vice President ial, general election debates have become really the highlight of the Campaign Season and something we just expect to happen. That has not always been the case. Its also common in other races, particularly highprofile races, so when was the first president ial debate . Heres a trivia question, historical trivia. Anyone know . Give you a hint . No one recognizes those people . This is a false hint. Thats lincoln and douglas. A lot of time people think, you hear the famous Lincoln Douglas debates and they ran against each other for president in 1860. Actually, their debates is when they were both running for the u. S. Senate in illinois in 1858 and had numerous debates around the state of illinois. And so quite an odd situation, they ran against each othe
President trump spoke thursday at the white house with votes being counted in a number of states. The president made allegations of Election Fraud with mailin ballots and said his campaign would pursue legal action, including going to the Supreme Court. Pres. Trump thank you very much. Evening. Id like to provide the American People with an update on our efforts to protect the integrity of our very important 2020 election. If you count the legal votes, i easily win. If you count the illegal votes, they can try to steal the election from us. If you count the votes that came at them were looking very strongly. A lot of votes came in late. I have already decisively one. Many critical states in closing including massive victories in florida, indiana, ohio, to name just a few.
