Off the i17 and camelback. Katie conner has the latest. Reporter for one of the injured officers, this was his first day on the job hitting the streets solo. Early this morning he was standing outside this qt, investigating with two officers when the driver of a maroon car drove right at them. One of the officers got pinned between the car and the store. The driver got with the third officer until help arrived. Detectives are trying to figure out a motive. The video shows the suspect watching the officers, moving his car a couple of spots in the parking lot. And ultimately running them down. Reporter the injured officers were rushed to saint joes hospital. We are told that one has been released. The other two are still being treated for serious injuries. What’s often less spoken about is King’s fight for better wages for underpaid factory workers in Atlanta and his Vietnam War protest. While well-revered today, there was a time King was not well-liked by the majority. “We posthumously romanticize (King) now,” said Dr. Lawrence Scott, assistant professor of educational leadership at Texas A&M San Antonio.
