The purpose of this hearing is to address an important question. Should Selective Service registration be expanded to include all americans. In 2016 the commission was created amid a debate over whether the requirement for Selective Service registration should be extended to women after military combat roles were open to women in 2015. Congress charged us to answer two very important questions. First, does our country have a continuing need for a military service Selective Service system and if so, whether the Current System requires modifications.
