FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) Gabe Kalscheur hit a 3-pointer with 1.3 seconds remaining and finished with 15 points as No. 25 Iowa State beat No. 17 TCU 69-67 on Saturday. Kalscheur’s winner from way beyond the arc came just after TCU had just claimed the lead for the first time since early in the first half.
CINCINNATI (AP) Zach Freemantle scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, and Colby Jones also scored 16, helping No. 22 Xavier hand No. 2 UConn its first loss of the season, 83-73, on Saturday. Jack Nunge started the game for Xavier (12-3, 4-0 Big East) despite an illness that limited him during warmups, and sat out some of the second half.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) Emanuel Miller had 21 points and seven rebounds and No. 20 TCU beat Utah 75-71 on Wednesday night at the Utah Jazz’s Vivint Arena. Mike Miles added 18 points for the Horned Frogs (10-1), and center Eddie Lampkin had 10 rebounds in his return from a back injury.
LOS ANGELES (AP) Boogie Ellis scored a career-high 28 points and Southern California held off 19th-ranked Auburn 74-71 on Sunday for the Trojans’ fifth straight win. Neither team led by more than six points in the second half of the teams’ first meeting since 1977.
