The National Forum to Accelerate Middle-Grades Reform and the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals as part of a national recognition program have designated Sabine Middle School in Gladewater and Sabine ISD as a Texas School to Watch. Sabine Middle School joins approximately 70 other campuses across Texas with this distinction and honor.
In recognition of his exceptional leadership and dedication to student success, Matt Hawkins, the assistant principal of Seminole Junior High, was named a 2024-2025 Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP) Region 17 Outstanding Assistant Principal of the Year. TASSP honors outstanding principals and assistant principals from the twenty regional Education Service Centers in the state. With their respective regions, school administrators are nominated and selected by their peers. Nominations are based on exemplary performance and outstanding leadership.
Seminole High School assistant principal Randy Jones was selected to represent Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP) as Region 17 Outstanding Assistant Principal of the Year for 2024-2025. With a remarkable 31 year career in education, Jones has dedicated the last 19 years to Seminole ISD. Throughout his time in education, he has skillfully navigated various roles, including teacher and coach, and has consistently risen through the ranks, leading to his current position as Assistant Principal.
