Competitive gaming coming to Texas High School in Texarkana
Esports, or electronic sports, will be added as an extracurricular activity at Texas High School this fall as part of its line-up of competitive teams, school officials announced Tuesday.

TEXARKANA, Texas Esports, or electronic sports, will be added as an extracurricular activity at Texas High School this fall as part of its line-up of competitive teams, school officials announced Tuesday.
Esports is video gaming between two teams, governed by rules and guidelines. Esports requires teamwork, communication, critical and strategic thinking, creativity, sportsmanship and leadership much like traditional sports, said Gerry Stanford, Athletic Director for Texarkana Independent School District.
